Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Exsel Group. As a key member of our purchasing function, you will be responsible for identifying and interpreting purchasing requirements, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to achieve on-cost and on-time deliveries.
  2. Proactively manage the supplier base to minimize financial and legal liability.
  3. Collaborate with internal resources to support suppliers and ensure contract compliance.
  4. React promptly to project-critical purchasing requirements and provide feedback on supplier performance.
  5. Travel to other Exsel Group sites and occasional overseas travel may be required.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a dynamic and fast-paced purchasing function.
  2. Detailed understanding of commercial principles and practices, including supplier profit factors and chains of distribution.
  3. Basic knowledge of metal fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and general engineering processes.
  4. Valid driving license and ability to work outside core hours on occasion.
