Claims Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Claims Handler to join our team at National Highways. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of cases, working with stakeholders to ensure claims are thoroughly investigated and settled in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of cases, working with stakeholders to ensure claims are thoroughly investigated and settled in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the legal department and barristers to discover supporting evidence for claims, ensuring all decisions withstand scrutiny and are compliant with regulations and legislation.
- Investigate cases to ensure all evidence is factual, and make direct contact with claimants to interrogate their version of events.
- Work with insurers, service providers, and other stakeholders to obtain information to support case resolution in a timely manner.
- Closely work with the Claims Manager to produce recommendations and reports, ensuring these are recorded accurately for auditing purposes.
- Experience of handling cases in an insurance claims environment.
- Experience of working on IT systems, including case management systems.
- Detailed understanding of case management and case law.
- Excellent negotiating and client management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
