About the Role

The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Service Manager to join our Division of Infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will provide support for the Facilities Operations Manager and various services, ensuring that the associated teams achieve the appropriate agreed outcomes and conform to all agreed practices, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and support to the Facilities Operations Manager and various services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and outcomes.
  • Lead specific aspects of the strategic development of Patient Environment and Facilities Operations functions, ensuring that the service delivers required complete outcomes across the Trust.
  • Act as a strategic lead to various services, including chairing meetings, updating Trust policies and procedures, completing business cases, and supporting with the contract tender process.
  • Manage the performance of operational managers within the post holder's agreed work area.
  • Deputise for other Facilities Managers or the Senior Facilities Managers, as required, and attend the daily Trust operational tactical bed meeting in line with the rota.
  • Assist the Facilities Operations Manager with designated Facilities Management contracts, including pest control services, task management, and clinical waste contracts.
  • Assist and delegate for the Facilities Operations Manager when required.
  • Act as chair to recruitment and selection panels.
  • Manage and motivate operations team staff in the delivery of multi-functional front-of-house services.
  • Carry out initial investigations and first response to official complaints, grievances, and disciplinaries, keeping the Facilities Operations Manager informed.
  • Maintain records in relation to Operations services, ensuring a robust audit trail.
  • Complete meetings as part of the Trust sickness policy, supporting Health and wellbeing, and referring to relevant departments to support staff welfare.
  • Assist in the development of local operating policies and procedures in own area of responsibility.
