The Offender Health Directorate is a leading provider of prison healthcare services in the UK, delivering physical, mental health, and substance misuse healthcare services in prisons across the East Midlands, Lincolnshire, and Leicestershire.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HMP Fosse Way, a Category C Resettlement Prison. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team who provide integrated healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Support all aspects of the supply and distribution of medications, ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate provision of medication to patients.
- Ensure that all medications are ordered via the electronic prescribing system, SystmOne.
- Complete medication reconciliation for all new arrivals, ongoing medication optimisation support and reviews, and take the lead on safe storage and use of medications.
- Deliver a Smoking Cessation support programme and administer Opioid Substitute Treatment.
- BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
- Current Professional Registration as Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Evidence of up-to-date CPD portfolio.
- Previous training in core technician roles, such as labelling, dispensing, and accuracy checking.
- Competency training and experience in stock management.
- Conflict Resolution, Manual Handling, Breakaway, and Medicines Administration training.
- Extensive experience of working in pharmacy, with evidence of team working and accurate computer-based stock control.
- Clear understanding of the role of pharmacy technicians in prescription management.
