Associate Head of Marine Autonomous Robotic Systems Operations

The Marine Autonomous and Robotic Systems (MARS) facility at the National Oceanography Centre is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Associate Head of MARS (Operations). This position will be responsible for overseeing the teams that maintain, prepare, and operate the marine science robotic fleet.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex marine autonomous systems operations and will play a crucial role in developing links with marine scientists and technologists to expand and enhance the service provided by MARS.
About YouWe are looking for a highly accomplished engineer with a strong background in marine autonomous systems operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the teams that maintain, prepare, and operate the marine science robotic fleet
- Developing links with marine scientists and technologists to expand and enhance the service provided by MARS
- Working closely with the Head of Marine Facilities Programmes to maintain the multi-year programme of MAS activities
