Building Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Safety Technician to join our Property Safety team at Together Housing. As a Building Safety Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents by providing technical support in building safety compliance, particularly focused on fire safety assessments and remedial actions.
Key Responsibilities:- Fitting and maintaining door guards to prevent the spread of fire
- Conducting regular inspections of communal areas and community centers, reporting any issues or concerns
- Testing and resetting fire alarm systems and emergency lighting, maintaining accurate records
- Fitting and testing smoke alarms in applicable areas
- Carrying out flushing of communal toilets, wash hand basins, and other water management tasks as part of our organization's policy
- Conducting post-inspections of compliance-related works
- Monitoring the Red Box in communal areas, forwarding missing information to relevant housing officers when required
- Performing asbestos checks in communal areas on a regular basis
- Checking fire extinguishers in communal areas to ensure they are in date and undamaged
- Verifying the operation of LD1 systems on relevant sites, reporting any issues
- Carrying out minor repairs, including changing light bulbs and fixing door handles
- A good understanding of building safety regulations, particularly around fire safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Technical aptitude and proficiency in using IT systems, including MS Office applications
- A Full UK Driving Licence
- Salary of £23,997
- Annual pay scale increase
- 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays
