Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist - Community Rehabilitation and Falls Service

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Community Rehabilitation and Falls Service team in Lambeth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality rehabilitation services to adults living in Southwark and Lambeth.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have significant rehabilitation experience at specialist level, with a strong background in falls prevention and management. You will be responsible for managing a complex and constantly changing workload, demonstrating excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills. You will also be able to devise, deliver, and evaluate training both within the service and to other agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform highly specialized and advanced assessments and treatments as part of the Community Rehab and Falls Service, providing home-based, outpatient, and intermediate ward-based therapy to adults living in Southwark and Lambeth.
  • Act as team leader, manage designated staff performance, and be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Occupational Therapy service as part of the Community Rehabilitation and Falls Service.
  • Work autonomously, frequently as a lone practitioner, and at times in conjunction with team colleagues, across a variety of locations within the community, including clients' homes and residential care settings.
  • Work across borough boundaries, accessing and recording information, communicating with patients and colleagues, attending meetings or training using mobile devices, and coming into offices when required.
Requirements:
  • Health and Care Professions Council registration as an OT.
  • Significant rehabilitation experience at specialist level across relevant clinical areas, e.g., elderly care, intermediate care, dementia, orthopaedics, falls.
  • Experience of managing less senior staff and students, including providing supervision and appraisal.
  • Experience working in falls prevention and management.
