About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team at YMCA England & Wales. As a key member of our store team, you will play a vital role in driving sales, improving customer service, and promoting the work of YMCA within the local community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain a high-performing store team, ensuring excellent customer service and sales growth.
  • Develop and implement effective merchandising and stock rotation strategies to maximize income and minimize waste.
  • Work closely with the Store Manager to achieve sales targets, manage budgets, and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Deputise for the Store Manager as needed, taking on additional responsibilities and leading the team in their absence.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive store culture, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and the community.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in a retail or sales environment, with a strong track record of sales growth and customer service.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • A passion for working with young people and the local community, with a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
