About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled General Manager to join our Surgical Division at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of our elective services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within the resources available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for elective services, aligning with the Trust's overall strategy and transformation programme.
  • Provide leadership and direction to our surgical teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
  • Manage non-clinical staff, ensuring they are managed in line with the Trust's employment policies.
  • Develop and monitor effective risk management strategies to improve patient and staff safety.
  • Ensure confidentiality and adhere to the Trust's Equality and Diversity policy.
Requirements
  • Senior management experience in the NHS or related sector, including experience of directly managing staff and non-pay budgets.
  • Experience of providing services to a high quality with restricted resources.
  • Experience and evidence of implementing change management projects to develop or improve services.
  • Experience and evidence of business case preparation, presentation, and implementation.
  • Experience of strategic planning.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
