Job Overview

Saga is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Application Development team.

This is a hybrid role where you can work flexibly from home or from our Hubs.

As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will be part of a highly central and integral part of Saga's Technology Community.

You will be focused on understanding the needs of the organisation and developing technical business requirements in support of projects across all of Saga's businesses.

Your role will involve liaising with multiple technology partners to generate solutions in-line with business strategy and requirements.

You will define APIs, map data to systems, and partner with the Digital UX function to help map user journeys.

Systems and data will feature frequently in your working day.

You will support the conversations that provide recommendations to enhance systems architecture, and to improve data integrity & quality.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist with project definition, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  2. Function as an interface for technical delivery both internally and with 3rd party partners and service providers.
  3. Supporting multidisciplinary teams in designing, developing, documenting, testing, and delivering solution designs.
  4. Documenting designs & requirements needed to institute proposed updates.
  5. Facilitating Data Mapping workshops and documenting future state data architecture.
  6. Working alongside technical teams to ensure proposed solutions are achievable and fully documented.
  7. Proactive stakeholder engagement.
  8. Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
  9. Assist with review of test scripts to ensure that all functional requirements are being tested.
  10. Assist with defect triage.
  11. Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
  12. Adhere to Company and Departmental standards and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  13. Engaging and inputting into architectural strategy, governance, and policy.

Requirements

  • Technical background with proven experience.
  • Strong experience in software engineering and design architecture.
  • Up-to-date understanding of best practices regarding Information Security and Dev-ops.
  • Good communicator.
  • Good education background ideally to a degree level.
  • Ability to determine and articulate comprehensive business requirements (both functional and non-functional).
  • Ability to critically-evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into detail, build up detail from low-level information and determine the true underlying requirements.
  • Elicit requirements using various techniques such as site visits, interviews, research, observation, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process reviews, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow.
  • Ability to create and deliver clear presentations and to facilitate workshops to gain and agree requirements and solutions.
  • Understanding of change management.
  • Demonstrate experience (both technical and business centric) of application solutions.
