Safeguarding Specialist Nurse/Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Nurse to join our Cared for Children Health Team. This is a 12-month fixed-term/part-time opportunity to work with looked after children and young people, addressing their health needs and providing safeguarding support.
Main Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the safeguarding and looked after children service to ensure safe and effective services for vulnerable youth.
- Develop and implement health plans for looked after children, working closely with social care and other agencies.
- Provide training and supervision to staff on safeguarding and health issues related to looked after children.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to safeguarding and health for looked after children.
- Work with the team to identify and address health inequalities and disparities in the care of looked after children.

Requirements- Registered Nurse with significant experience working with young people in a healthcare or educational setting.
- Excellent knowledge of child development, health needs of teenagers and young people, and issues pertinent to looked after children.
- Evidence of direct work with looked after children and young people, as well as experience of multi-agency working.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise, with a willingness to travel within the service delivery area.
