About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Nurse to join our Cared for Children Health Team. This is a 12-month fixed-term/part-time opportunity to work with a dedicated team addressing the health needs of looked after children.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective services for safeguarding and looked after children across our organisation.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the health needs of looked after children are met.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the health outcomes of looked after children.
  • Contribute to the development of the safeguarding and looked after children service.
  • Participate in multi-agency working to ensure the best possible outcomes for looked after children.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse qualification.
  • Significant experience of working with young people in a healthcare or educational setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of child development and health needs of teenagers and young people.
  • Evidence of direct work with looked after children/young people.
  • Experience and contribution to single and multi-disciplinary audit processes.
  • Evidence of multi-agency working.
  • Evidence of recent relevant Continual Professional Development.
