Senior Clinical Research Laboratory Technician - Cell Therapy

We are seeking an experienced and qualified HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Research and Innovation laboratory team as a Senior Clinical Research Laboratory Technician - Cell Therapy. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of clinical research, contributing to the development of new treatments and therapies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of the Cell and Therapy services through processing and quality control testing of cellular material. They will work closely with the Research and Innovation laboratory team to ensure the safe and effective delivery of these services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory analysis and a good understanding of quality control procedures. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the processing of peripheral blood stem cells for life-saving transplantation
  • Participate in Cell Therapy work as part of our Stem Cell Apheresis service
  • Contribute to the development of new methods and the implementation of new technology
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements, including patient confidentiality and the Data Protection Act/GDPR

Requirements

  • HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist
  • Minimum 2 years post-HCPC registration experience in a laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of specialist discipline to postgraduate diploma level or equivalent
  • IBMS membership
  • BBTS Specialist Certificate in Stem Cell Transplantation Science
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
