About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Clinical Research team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of high-quality clinical research laboratory services, working closely with our research and innovation team.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Perform laboratory analyses and procedures associated with clinical trials, including reporting results and maintaining accurate records.
  2. Undertake flow cytometry and support the interpretation of results.
  3. Assist in the storage, delivery, and shipping of cells and biological samples.
  4. Support quality control procedures and ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Health and Safety regulations.
  5. Undertake routine and complex laboratory-based work, including pre-analytical processing of clinical trial specimens and samples for analysis using various technologies.
  6. Perform clerical tasks, including monitoring and querying sample processing requests, completing sample tracking logs, and maintaining equipment maintenance records.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Laboratory Technician with a strong background in biological sciences and laboratory techniques. You will have a good understanding of GLP, GCP, and Health and Safety regulations and be able to maintain confidentiality and act professionally. Relevant laboratory experience and knowledge of flow cytometry and tissue culture work are essential. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team and as an individual.
