Job Description

We have a Macmillan Head and Neck Highly Specialist SLT post available. You will be working closely alongside other H&N MDT members and will be responsible for providing a highly specialist service for patients with dysphagia and communication impairments due to Head and Neck cancer.

  • You will be working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with the latter being based in our radiotherapy department.
  • Key responsibilities include managing patients with non-ventilated tracheostomy and implementing weaning programmes in conjunction with MDT.
  • Additionally, you will be leading, performing, evaluating, and reporting Videofluoroscopies independently and providing training and support to junior colleagues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree or MSC in Speech and Language Therapy accredited by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Health and Care Professions Council Registration to Practice.
  • Registered Member of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
  • Evidence of successful completion of specialist post-graduate study and short courses relevant to the specialism of head and neck cancer.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be between £51,883 and £58,544 per annum inclusive of HCAs, reflecting the high level of expertise and experience required for this role.
