Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cambridge. As a member of our quantity surveying practice, you will be responsible for managing projects from feasibility through to project handover, with a focus on delivering high-quality services to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, including pre-contract tenders, cost planning, and contract administration across JCT contracts. Strong communication skills and experience working with clients are essential for this role.

About the Company:

Our client is a well-established quantity surveying practice in Cambridge, working on repeat business in the Heritage sector. They have experienced sustained growth over the past 5 years and are looking to further grow their team with a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor. The company has an excellent reputation in the East of England and values its relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading Heritage and Higher Education sector projects between c£1m-c£20m+ within the developed sector. The role requires excellent communication skills, as you will work closely with clients to deliver projects successfully. You will undertake full quantity surveying duties, including pre-contract tenders, cost planning, and contract administration across JCT contracts, including Design and Build. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying and experience working with clients.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have previously held a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager position on projects £5m+. Good client-facing skills and the ability to lead and manage meetings are essential. MRICS Chartership is desirable but not essential. You should also have relevant qualifications, such as a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or Building Surveying.
