We are seeking two Consultant Physicians in Acute & General Medicine to join our dynamic team at University Hospital Wishaw. Our department offers a unique blend of medical ambulatory care, medical assessment ward, and medical high dependency unit, providing a challenging and rewarding environment for our physicians.
Our Acute Physicians work closely with Specialty Physicians in the Physician of the Week model, ensuring excellent support from nursing and medical colleagues in the Emergency Department. The successful applicants will participate in the acute rota, which is variable and flexible depending on the commitments of the team, and will also participate in the Physician of the Week/Day and weekend on-call rotas.
We welcome enthusiastic individuals who are keen to contribute to the ongoing development of services. Sub-specialty clinical interests are welcome and will be supported. The University of Glasgow enjoys close links with NHS Lanarkshire, and our medical students benefit greatly from the excellent educational opportunities provided by the board in both primary and secondary care.
As an Honorary Status Role Holder, you will be entitled to numerous benefits, including a University of Glasgow ID card, use of the Library and other facilities, and a University IT account as required for your role. You will also have access to all courses run by the IT Services on the same basis as members of staff and are permitted an educational discount when PC equipment is purchased through the IT Services.
