Altum Consulting is seeking an experienced and skilled Interim Finance Director to join our team for a period of approximately 6 months. The successful candidate will provide strong financial leadership to the finance team and will be responsible for leading a complex VAT project and the budgeting process for the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance team to deliver an efficient and reliable finance function
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements for charity/education
- Support the Bursar in delivering next year's budget
- Work closely with the Director of Property and IT to support capital planning
- Analyse and present financial information to the Bursar and Governors to aid decision making
- Oversee the provision of reports, returns, and management information as required
- Manage external relationships with bankers, auditors, and investment advisors
- Own the finance data, ensuring copies are stored in line with policy
Requirements:
- At least one year's experience in a lead finance role, ideally with a school or charity
- Proven experience in leading and motivating teams through periods of change
- Strong technical accounting knowledge from education or charity
- Ability to move easily between strategic and operational levels and communicate effectively at all levels with a variety of stakeholders
