About the Role

Montcalm Collection is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our maintenance department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and manage the maintenance department, including assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
  2. Ensure all maintenance requests are addressed promptly and effectively to minimize guest disruption.
  3. Collaborate with front desk and housekeeping teams to resolve maintenance issues.
  4. Maintain the hotel's luxury brand standards in all maintenance activities.
  5. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment and facilities are well-maintained.
  6. Lead and manage maintenance teams and external contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.
  7. Monitor and control maintenance expenses, including labour, materials, and contracted services.
  8. Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts to ensure availability of critical items.
  9. Lead, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians to deliver high-quality work in a timely manner.
  10. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster a positive work environment.
  11. Ensure the team adheres to all hotel policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
  12. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  13. Coordinate with external inspectors and service providers to ensure all certifications and inspections are up to date.
  14. Keep detailed records of maintenance projects, expenses, and any issues that arise.
  15. Implement and monitor energy conservation initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
  16. Analyse energy consumption patterns and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency without compromising guest comfort.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment.

The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, excellent leadership and team management skills, and the ability to manage budgets and control costs.

The candidate will also have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and external vendors.
