Job Summary:

The Estimating Manager will lead the electrical estimation function, ensuring the quotation process supports the business strategy while driving growth and brand reputation. As a key contact for the wider commercial team, you will be responsible for allocating workloads, maintaining committed deadlines, and identifying knowledge gaps and opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the estimation team, including allocating workloads and maintaining committed deadlines.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and opportunities for professional development.
  • Support the team through effective line management, including 1-2-1s and appraisals in line with our people-centered HR policies.
  • Drive performance and cost-effectiveness through monitoring KPIs in alignment with business-wide objectives.
  • Manage internal team processes, including the quotation process and data entry on business systems.
  • Prepare basic and detailed tenders, COMA/maintenance contracts, and sales contracts, ensuring adherence to laws and guidelines.
  • Manage the approval process of quotes up to £200k before they are sent to clients and decide on the quote/no-quote process.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of building strong and collaborative relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers.
  • Experience in delivering results through strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Establish key aspects associated with client requirements, provide quotations, liaise with internal departments, and submit a final overview of project ability to the client.
  • Working business systems to follow company processes and maintain data integrity.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Full UK driving license (maximum of 3 points).
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field.
  • Strong market knowledge and experience within the electrical distribution sector, both HV and LV.
  • Experience of tendering for O&M contracts and private networks.
  • Experience of establishing strategic and operational partnerships.
  • Wide experience of handling complex and sensitive business/commercial information, both internally and externally, in confidence.
  • Demonstrative experience in project management and process improvement.

Salary and Benefits:

The Estimating Manager salary is £50-60k + excellent benefits.
