We are looking for a highly skilled and empathetic Support Carer to provide round-the-clock assistance for a young man with complex needs in his family home in Bristol. As part of our dedicated team, you will help him access various activities and therapies in the community, such as hydrotherapy, music therapy, and physiotherapy, while ensuring his safety and well-being at all times.

About the Role:
  • Train, manage, and support the care team.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans, incorporating physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and sensory stimulation.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a close-knit team. A valid driver's license and ability to drive safely are essential requirements.

Requirements:

  • English fluency, both written and spoken.
  • Free from musculo-skeletal or back injuries that could compromise manual handling tasks.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with sensory impairments, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and epilepsy.
  • Hold a driver's license - disclose any points on your license.
  • Skills in delivering occupational therapy, sensory stimulation, or using assistive technology with clients.

You will undergo comprehensive training in manual handling, medication administration, and first aid before starting work. Regular DBS checks and a one-month probationary period apply.

Compensation Package:

  • 28 days paid holiday entitlement, including bank holidays, proportionate to shift numbers.
  • Hourly salary aligned with Agenda for Change increases.
  • Flexible scheduling: 7.30-8pm shifts, weekend coverage, and ad-hoc time off requests.
