Strategic Portfolio Director

Job Purpose

To provide leadership and management of the following portfolio of services:

  • Regeneration
  • Planning Policy
  • Large site strategic delivery
  • Development management
  • Planning enforcement
  • Local Land Charges
  • Economic Development

As a senior leader, you will lead the strategic development of key priorities within the assigned portfolio, and support those outside of the assigned portfolios, to ensure strategies and processes support Council-wide goals and to effectively fulfil the statutory requirements relevant to the service areas.

The role requires a business and finance-focused individual who can systematically plan, focus on quality service, and prioritise customer satisfaction. You will also need to have relevant qualifications in Town and Country Planning, RICs or Architecture, and be a registered professional with ongoing development commitment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the strategic development of key priorities within the assigned portfolio
  • Supports those outside of the assigned portfolios to ensure strategies and processes support Council-wide goals
  • Ensures statutory requirements relevant to the service areas are effectively fulfilled
  • Plans systematically, focuses on quality service, and prioritises customer satisfaction
  • Holds relevant qualifications in Town and Country Planning, RICs or Architecture, and is a registered professional with ongoing development commitment
