Job Summary

As a qualified Practice Accountant, you will be responsible for providing expert accounting and tax services to small businesses and individuals in the UK. Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UK tax laws and accounting standards, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Accounting Professional to join our team at Tax Assist Accountants. As a key member of our practice, you will work closely with clients to understand their business needs and provide tailored accounting and tax solutions. Your expertise will include preparation and review of accounts, tax returns, and VAT returns, as well as providing proactive advice on tax planning and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns for sole traders, rental property income, individuals, and partnerships
• Prepare and review corporation tax computations for limited companies
• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Chartered Accountant with a strong track record in a practice environment. Your skills and qualifications should include:

• ACCA/ICAEW or AAT qualification or equivalent
• Recent and relevant experience in a practice environment
• Current working knowledge of UK tax laws and accounting standards applicable to small businesses
• Strong knowledge of computerised accounting systems
• Genuine desire to be a trusted advisor to small business clients
