Ecological Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team in Oxford. As a key member of our ecological consultancy, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from local conservation to large-scale infrastructure developments across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Coordination: Oversee ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact studies for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and planning policies.
- Field Operations: Conduct and supervise field surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological monitoring, to inform project decisions.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies, utilizing data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing expert advice and guidance on ecological issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment, and promoting professional development.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to relevant legislation, planning policies, and environmental standards, minimizing risk and ensuring project success.
- Experience: Proven experience within an ecological consultancy or related field, with a strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning regulations.
- Qualifications: Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline, with a master's degree or PhD being advantageous.
- Skills: Proficient in ecological survey techniques, data analysis, and report writing, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ecological Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and best practices in ecological management.
- Attitude: Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work with a positive impact.
