Ecological Consultancy Opportunity
This well-established ecological consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Principal Ecologist to join their team. With offices in Oxford, Cambridge, and London, they offer a diverse range of ecological and biodiversity net gain projects.
About the Role
You will be involved in a full range of ecological consultancy services across residential, infrastructure, commercial, renewables, and projects of cultural importance. Key responsibilities may include:
- Organising and leading on-site visits
- Managing and leading ecological surveys, including PEAs, BNG assessments, protected species, HRAs, and ECoW
- Supervising written reports for ecological surveys
- Client liaison to deliver projects
- Leading a team of junior ecologists to ensure project delivery
- Business development to win new business
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Ecology or a related subject
- Extensive experience as an Ecologist in a permanent role
- Knowledge of key environmental legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Client liaison skills
- Team leadership experience
- A full clean driving licence
- Skills in GIS
- CIEEM membership
