About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at ESS, a leading provider of food and support services to the Defence, Government, and Energy sectors. As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service to our clients and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes to the highest standards, ensuring that all food is presented attractively and served promptly.
  • Team Management: Supervise and support a team of chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure that they are equipped to deliver excellent food and service.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies and equipment as needed to ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked and efficient.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer feedback and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Skills: Excellent culinary skills, with the ability to prepare and cook a wide range of dishes to the highest standards.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
