Job Description

Role Overview

Protocol Education is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting a child with additional needs in a primary education setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to a child with autism, focusing on their learning, emotional, and mental well-being.
  • Develop and implement interventions to help the child develop social skills, build confidence, and regulate their emotions and behavior.
  • Support the teacher with whole-class learning and behavior management, as well as running small-group interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Positive, proactive, and patient approach to working with children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, taking advice from colleagues and senior staff, and sharing ideas and expertise.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to challenge and support all pupils.
