About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead our First Response Team in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This is a critical role in managing staff, setting direction, and ensuring high standards in a multi-agency environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Improve life chances for children in care or with their families.
  • Lead, manage, and supervise social work practice.
  • Making evidence-based decisions to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Oversee the delivery of social work services and review their impact.
  • Assure the quality of practice, manage performance, and deliver value for money.
Main Duties
  • Provide effective leadership and supervision to teams, ensuring high standards and best practices.
  • Lead local service developments to meet national priorities in children's services.
  • Conduct performance management and mentor specialist officers.
  • Provide expert advice to colleagues, external agencies, and the general public.
  • Lead the integration of new policies and procedures into social work practice.
  • Monitor and improve service user satisfaction, handling complaints and incidents.
  • Conduct regular workload reviews and manage caseloads effectively.
  • Lead on audits and quality assurance activities, ensuring continuous service improvements.
About You
  • A recognised social work qualification and HCPC registration.
  • Experience in managing staff in a statutory children's social work setting.
  • A commitment to improving services for children and families.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex workloads.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to ensure quality standards and performance management.
Person Specification
  • Essential: Experience in managing teams within children's social care, HCPC registration, a recognised social work qualification, and post-qualification professional development.
  • Desirable: Leadership and management training, experience in service improvements and quality assurance.
