Independent Reviewing Officer
Position Overview:
This role is integral to the Safeguarding & Quality Assurance Team at Powys County Council. The Independent Reviewing Officer is tasked with leading Child Protection Conferences and reviews for Looked After Children. The primary focus is to assess and oversee care plans, ensuring timely interventions and preventing any delays in care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and chair essential care planning meetings.
- Evaluate and monitor care plans to ensure they meet the needs of children and families.
- Advocate for the rights and voices of children and their families in all discussions.
- Collaborate effectively with partner agencies to promote a unified approach to safeguarding.
- Maintain a child-centered focus in all decision-making processes.

Candidate Profile:
- Proven skills in chairing meetings, with the ability to summarize and convey information clearly.
- Competent in minute-taking for various meetings.
- Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient networking skills to engage with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and advocacy skills.
- Commitment to promoting strengths-based practices and the Signs of Safety framework.
