Hygiene Team Leader

Job Purpose:
As a Hygiene Team Leader at Veetee, you will oversee the daily implementation of hygiene services across the site, ensuring that cleaning regimes are well-documented and adhered to.
Responsibilities:
- To work collaboratively with the team to maintain the highest standards of visual and microbiological hygiene across all areas of the site.
- To identify and address any difficulties that arise, communicating these to the Hygiene Manager in a timely manner.
- To adhere to all hygiene, food safety, quality, health & safety procedures, and company policies.
- To report any Food Safety/Health & Safety concerns and ensure that PARs are completed accurately.
- To achieve a 'right first time' clean, following established work instructions and safety protocols.
- To carry out daily/weekly/monthly/ad hoc cleaning tasks as required.
- To participate in daily GMP audits to ensure compliance.
- To manage break times effectively, ensuring staff are on the shop floor on time.
- To complete related documents and records in a timely and accurate manner.
- To ensure that hygiene operatives clean equipment as per cleaning instruction cards.
- To manage and develop hygiene staff on the shift, promoting a proactive and safe working environment.
- To carry out start-up/inspection checks of cleaning equipment and report any damages.
- To conduct chemical titration checks as required.
- To act as an effective deputy in the absence of the Hygiene Manager.
- To organize and control stock issues and generate stock replenishment orders in the absence of the Hygiene Manager.
- To work collaboratively with the team to cover all factory and associated areas, and to cover other team members when absent.
- To identify solutions, implement continuous improvement, and problem-solve.
- To perform any other duties that may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Previous hygiene experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Previous team leader experience.
- An understanding of HACCP principles, Health & Safety, COSHH, BRC, and hygiene practices.
- Level 2 Food Safety certification.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Basic IT skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative individually as well as part of a team.
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week.
