Job Description

The Lifting Equipment Engineer role involves the inspection, function testing, repair, and maintenance of lifting and working at height equipment. This includes proof load testing of equipment such as runway beams, davit sockets, swing jibs, and lift shaft eyes, and basic installations while producing reports/certification for equipment, including detailed reporting on failed items.

Occasionally, you will carry out site surveys and advise customers on the correct selection and use of lifting equipment. In addition, the TIC team supports the lifting depot network by maintaining the hire fleet, upskilling members of the team, and providing customers with bespoke solutions to lifting-based queries.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working as a Lifting Engineer/Fitter is essential.
  • Competent in the inspection of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER/PUWER.
  • LEEAs qualifications are highly desirable, including advanced programs such as Runways & Crane Structures and/or Overhead Travelling Cranes.
  • Able to work on own initiative and assist other team members when required.
  • A customer-focussed approach to workload and strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driving license is essential.

Work Environment

This role is primarily site based, requiring the ability to travel and work in various locations. The ideal candidate will be located anywhere between Whitehaven, Carlisle, and Dumfries but will consider candidates outside this area.
