Wm. Armstrong (Longtown) Limited is seeking a skilled Vehicles Maintenance Specialist to join its Armstrong Vehicle Centre team in Longtown depot, previously known as Cumbria Trucks Centre.

This is a 5 hour per week role, Monday to Friday, with dayshift and backshift hours, including Saturday mornings based on a rota along with an out of hours On Call requirement.

Overtime rates are paid at £100 per week for the On Call allowance, minimum call out and hours paid.

As a Vehicles Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, servicing and maintaining modern and varied vehicles, including cars, vans, and other light commercial vehicles.

You will provide top quality service to our customers and remain up to date with the latest vehicle technology, DVSA inspection standards, changes in MOT legislation and working practices.

A UK driving licence is essential, while a Class 1 or Class 2 licence is preferable. Relevant certifications or qualifications in mechanical engineering would be advantageous but not essential.

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at £25-30k per year, taking into account the location and industry standards. In addition to the salary, we provide life insurance, training and development support, and overtime pay.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work towards full qualifications and receive competitive rates of pay during their training, getting them on to the full rates as soon as possible.
