About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team at Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to provide clean energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and direct engineers/designers in the production of complex design solutions using AutoCAD / Inventor.
  • Produce simple calculations and direct engineers/designers in the production of complex calculations.
  • Ensure design deliverables are produced to a high standard and compliant with all relevant internal and client procedures.
  • Produce technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements, etc.
  • Take ownership of design deliverables throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operations, and decommissioning phases of a project.
  • Produce and check CDM Risk Registers and documentation required for Technical Files of new products/plant and equipment.
  • Presentation of technical solutions to clients and others in both formal and informal settings.
  • Support in the development of project safety case, including HAZID and HAZOP attendance, production of basis of safety documents, and engineering substantiation.
  • Develop estimates, deliverables required, and programme logic at bid/tender stage.
  • Manage a team of engineers/designers to deliver the engineering scope as required by the project.
  • Mentor a team of engineers/designers to improve their own skill sets and enhance the company's capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key counterparts in client or partner organisations.
  • Producing and assessing concessions and technical queries.
  • Preparing and reviewing quality plans for single discipline work packages.
Requirements
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Chartered Member of the IMechE (preferred).
  • Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives and how they should be applied.
  • Proven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to mechanical design.
  • Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products/plant and equipment.
  • Detail design knowledge of mechanical mechanisms or bespoke equipment for Nuclear use.
  • Knowledge of relevant drawing standards BS8888, BS5070, and BS EN 61082.
