Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Renal Counsellor to join our team at Cambridge University Hospitals. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert psychotherapeutic services to patients with renal conditions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop tailored care plans
  • Provide short, medium, and long-term counselling services to patients and their families
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Develop and deliver training programs for healthcare staff
Requirements
  • Recognised professional qualification in psychological therapy
  • Accredited practitioner status with a registered body
  • Postgraduate qualification in counselling or psychotherapy/psychology
  • Significant practice experience as a Counsellor or Psychotherapist
  • Recent experience in working therapeutically with patients with chronic/long-term conditions
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of organisational and group dynamics
  • Knowledge of case work supervisory methods/approaches
  • Knowledge of legislation in relation to patient groups and mental health
  • Understanding of GDPR
