About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team at Coventry Building Society. As a key member of our Legal Function, you will provide expert advice on a range of matters across the Society and assist the business in managing risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on a broad spectrum of legal issues, with a focus on mortgages and saving accounts
  • Ensure that products are designed and managed in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Society's risk appetite
  • Assist in the Society's internal and external review of contractual documentation
  • Provide clear, prompt, and effective legal advice to all functions and stakeholders
  • Coordinate responses to material non-standard litigation matters
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced legal professional who can demonstrate a strong alignment to our values and a proactive approach to managing risk. You will have excellent drafting and research skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Requirements
  • Legally qualified with demonstrable experience in the elements required for this role
  • Strong drafting and research experience
  • Stakeholder management with negotiation, analytical, and influencing skills
