Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Older Adult Mental Health Service as a Senior Clinical Psychologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, highly specialist clinical psychology services to older adults with severe and/or complex mental health disorders and/or dementia.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychological assessment and intervention for older adults with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties in an inpatient setting.
- Undertake psychological assessment, including neuropsychological assessment where appropriate.
- Supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by Clinical/Counselling Psychologists and other clinical members of the team.
- Work as part of the inpatient team, providing advice and guidance to colleagues, as well as to social care and GPs in planning and implementing care plans for patients with psychological care needs.
- Provide indirect support to inpatient staff within the Older Adult Inpatients services.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of local policies and procedures.
- Exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the Older Adult inpatient wards.
- Utilize research skills for audit, policy, and service development and research.
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with:
- Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design, and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology.
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health.
- Knowledge of working with complex patients in time-limited therapies.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of different, specialized psychological therapies and how they are used for patients with severe and complex presentations.
- Pre-qualification training and qualifications or experience in research methodology, staff training, and/or other fields of applied psychology.
