About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Aldwych Consulting Ltd. As a key member of our structural design consultancy, you will be responsible for leading complex schemes and providing technical expertise to our clients in the power industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of structural projects, including substation design, battery storage facilities, and blast-resistant buildings
  • Develop and implement complex design solutions, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with our experienced team to deliver high-quality projects, ensuring timely completion and client satisfaction
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve our design processes and outcomes
Requirements
  • Chartered status or equivalent experience in structural engineering
  • Extensive experience in buildings design, with a focus on complex, technical projects
  • Strong technical expertise in steel and concrete design, with knowledge of masonry and other materials
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Ability to travel to sites in London and the South East, with occasional overnight stays
