About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Aldwych Consulting Ltd. As a key member of our structural design team, you will be responsible for leading complex schemes and providing technical expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of structural systems for power industry projects, including substations, battery storage facilities, and blast-resistant buildings.
  • Develop and implement design solutions for complex projects, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality design deliverables and meet project deadlines.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and contribute to the development of the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our design processes and services.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in structural design, with a focus on the power industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in steel and concrete design, with knowledge of masonry and other materials.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel to sites in London and the South East, with occasional overnight stays.
