English Teacher Job Description

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team at a local SEN School in Andover. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English education to students aged 11-19 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum and tailored to individual student needs.
  • Utilize various teaching methods to engage students and support their learning, including lectures, group activities, and practical experiments.
  • Regularly assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, homework, and tests.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents, identifying areas for improvement and success strategies.
  • Incorporate technology and other resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as English clubs, fairs, and field trips, to further engage and inspire students.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide programs and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • Previous experience teaching English to school students.
  • Profound knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Updated DBS.
