At the John Innes Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher in Bioinformatics to join our team and contribute to a project that aims to decipher the role of epigenetic switching in supporting virulence gains for the wheat rust fungi.

About the Project

The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Diane Saunders and Professor Nick Talbot's laboratories to investigate the contribution of epigenetic switching of Avr expression for wheat rust fungi in virulence gains and how this could be exacerbated under climate change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply bioinformatics tools to analyze large-scale genomic data
  • Collaborate with experimental biologists to design and implement experiments
  • Contribute to the development of new research ideas and approaches
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in epigenetics or a related field and have experience in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and biochemistry. A strong background in fungal plant pathology is advantageous but not essential.
