Job Title: Area Sales Manager Home Based

Job Summary:

Mitchell Maguire is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling high-end manufactured range of multi-point locking systems for windows and doors to window and door fabricators of composite, aluminium, PVC, composite fire doors, and timber fire doors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Field sales position selling high-end manufactured range of multi-point locking systems for windows and doors.
  2. Focus of the role to sell into and manage relationships with window and door fabricators of composite, aluminium, PVC, composite fire doors, and timber fire doors.
  3. Inheriting a customer base in need of development, you will be responsible for £1.5m-£2m revenue and expected to manage the distribution network efficiently.
  4. Tasked with recruiting a minimum of three new commercial accounts per annum, each contributing a minimum of £50,000 at an acceptable margin.
  5. Three to four days on the road, remainder of time home based/admin.
  6. Targeted sectors include composite and timber fire doors, the retail and trade sectors, new build, and alluvium fabricators.
  7. Smaller element of the role will be winning specifications with architects, local authorities, M&E contractors, and main contractors.

Requirements:

  1. Window and door hardware field sales experience from within the construction industry.
  2. Must have sold to window and door fabricators of composite, aluminium, PVC, composite fire doors, or timber fire doors.
  3. Ability to hit the ground running.
  4. New business hunter.
  5. Doors/ doorsets or door hardware field sales experience.
  6. Would also consider fire door specification field sales with architects and architectural ironmongers.
  7. GAI or FRID (fire door inspector qualification) may be advantageous.
  8. Must be comfortable with technical regulations/legislation around internal timber fire door locking systems.
  9. Consultative in approach.
  10. Network of contacts within composite or timber door fabrications is not essential.
  11. Must be a solution sales person, not someone that sells on price.
  12. Autonomous in nature.
  13. Comfortable with monthly reporting and diary planning.
  14. Self-motivated, communicative, relationship builder with strong negotiation skills.
