Nuclear QAQC Engineer Job Description

NES Fircroft is seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA/QC Engineer to join their team for a major nuclear project based in Surrey. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of all project activities, particularly focusing on nuclear projects, power plants, and turbine generators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement QA/QC plans and procedures for the project, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the quality control processes for nuclear projects, power plants, and turbine generators, ensuring seamless execution and timely completion.
  • Prepare and review quality documentation, including inspection and test plans, quality plans, and reports, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and corrective actions, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to project activities.
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for final handover, meeting regulatory and client requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to resolve quality issues, maintaining open communication and resolving conflicts in a professional manner.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience in QA/QC roles within nuclear projects, power plants, and turbine generators, with a strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification, with a strong foundation in quality assurance and control principles.
Additional Information:
  • This position is inside IR35, and the contract will be for 12 months.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
