Nuclear Quality Assurance Specialist

NES Fircroft is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team for a major nuclear project based in Surrey. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of all project activities, particularly focusing on nuclear projects, power plants, and turbine generators.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement quality assurance plans and procedures for the project.
  2. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  3. Oversee the quality control processes for nuclear projects, power plants, and turbine generators.
  4. Prepare and review quality documentation, including inspection and test plans, quality plans, and reports.
  5. Coordinate with project teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Manage non-conformance reports and corrective actions.
  7. Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for final handover.
  8. Participate in plant preparation, outage work, and repairs, ensuring all activities meet quality and safety standards.
  9. Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to resolve quality issues.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Proven experience in quality assurance roles within nuclear projects, power plants, and turbine generators.
  2. Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles and practices.
  3. Experience in preparing plant, outage work, and repairs.
  4. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  7. Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.

Additional Information:

  1. This position is inside IR35, and the contract will be for 12 months.
  2. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
