Job Title: Experienced Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Hampshire Wheelchair Service team.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a posture and mobility service and have some knowledge of manual and powered wheelchairs. They will be responsible for assessing the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs, and prescribing manual and powered wheelchairs with associated posture management and pressure management accessories.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be confident in the use of digital systems and software for record-keeping and for analysis of service performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs
  • Prescribe manual and powered wheelchairs with associated posture management and pressure management accessories
  • Supervise junior staff and provide clinical guidance to other non-clinical colleagues
  • Work with clinical and operational colleagues to deliver contractual service performance of a high quality
  • Liaise with service user groups and other stakeholders to facilitate joint working and identify opportunities for improving service user outcomes
  • Provide support for internal and external training programmes

Requirements:

  • Registered with the HCPC as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Clinical Scientist, or registered as a Nurse with the NMC
  • Full current UK driving licence for a manual transmission vehicle
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
