Underwriting Director, Facultative Position

At Arch Capital Group, we're looking for a highly skilled Underwriting Director, Facultative to join our team. This role is a mix of underwriting and client interaction, requiring a deep understanding of the market environment and a flexible approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite new and existing clients in accordance with the Arch Re underwriting philosophy.
  • Analyse and assess property submissions for coverage and risk hazards.
  • Develop relationships with clients and brokers through regular visits and calls.
  • Stay up-to-date with geographic markets, including wording, law, regulation, and competitors.
  • Provide timely and quality service to clients.
  • Promote positive interaction and collaboration with internal peers.
  • Represent Arch Re in meetings with clients and brokers.

Requirements:

  • A University Degree required, with professional re/insurance designations such as ACII or CPCU an asset.
  • Current market experience with a good track record and established contacts with cedants and brokers.
  • Proven ability to market to individuals in the industry at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with management at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, efficiently and under pressure.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • High degree of technical competence for property class.
  • UK & international travel expected for this position.
