Power Grid Development Engineer

At AECOM, we're driving the energy transition by developing innovative cable systems that support grid modernization. As a Power Grid Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering cable systems that enable a net-zero future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop cable burial route risk assessments and landfall solutions for offshore applications
  • Gather and correlate engineering data to generate detailed cable reports
  • Design and develop HVAC/HVDC and export cable systems for static and dynamic systems

Your work will include projects such as HVAC Interconnectors and HVAC and HVDC Offshore Windfarm projects. You will work independently with minimal supervision, coordinating across project disciplines and external subcontractors to ensure technical risks are identified and mitigated.

Requirements:
  • An electrical/electronic/power engineering qualification, such as an HNC, HND, BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng
  • Professionally qualified in Electrical Engineering (CEng Chartered Engineer or working towards achieving this)
  • Experience with software tools such as Cymcap, Cableizer, and COMSOL

AECOM celebrates diversity and believes it enriches our team. We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
