The Team
Our team is committed to delivering exceptional care, driven by regular training, appraisals, and supervision. This ethos enables staff to develop their careers in the care sector, as evident in many Deputies and Managers who progressed from Residential Support Workers.
We ensure our team feels valued, recognized, and rewarded for their hard work and dedication to the children and young people in our care. This includes incentives like employee of the month, pay increments, celebrations of significant events, team building activities, regular supervisions, and funded formal training (NVQs).
Training
We provide any necessary training for the role, including Level 3, 4, or 5 QCF/NVQ Residential Childcare Qualifications, ensuring our team has the skills required to excel.
Main Duties
- Collaborate with the Manager to ensure our service users receive exceptional support and care fitting their unique needs.
- Show genuine empathy for young people, helping them achieve their goals and ambitions.
- Build strong relationships with our young people, encouraging them to participate fully in home opportunities.
- Plan and adhere to a working rota, which may include evenings, sleep ins, and weekends.
- Establish robust relationships with external agencies like Local Authorities and Health/Social Care professionals.
- Conduct key work sessions with young people, producing reports for each session.
- Be responsible for the effective safeguarding of young people under your care and understand how to raise concerns.
- Assist young people with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, medical appointments, meetings, etc.
Shift Patterns & Pay:
Typically, shift patterns involve 1 day off followed by 2 days on. This usually equates to 10 or 11 shifts per month, with around 6 sleep ins. A qualified RSW can earn £31,716.25 annually at £12.50/hour, while non-qualified staff are paid £11.50/hour. Sleep ins are paid at £60/night and On Call cover at £35/night.
Ideal Experience Preferred:
- Experience working within residential environments for children and young adults.
- Understanding of relevant legislation regarding young people's care.
- Working with young people who have social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Full driving license (ideally).
- Own transport (ideally).
- Able to work at least 3 shifts a week and sleep ins.
- DBS Certificate (preferred).
- DBS Update Service (preferred).
- NVQ Level 3, 4, or 5 Residential Childcare Qualification (preferred).

In-person, based in the specified location.
Estimated Salary: Approximately £31,700/year.
