Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at ST GEORGES SCHOOL. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and well-being of our students with complex medical and behavioural challenges.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our teaching staff to provide individualized support to students in the classroom and during small group mentoring sessions. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of programs that promote positive behavior and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs in the classroom and during small group mentoring sessions
  • Assist with the development and implementation of programs that promote positive behavior and academic achievement
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students with medical and behavioural challenges, including administering medication and implementing behavior management strategies
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with complex needs
  • Level 2 English and maths, or equivalent
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and willingness to hold them at the centre of practice
