Financial Controller

BNY Mellon is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our Pershing Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for Financial Control across the business, acting as the first line of defence. Your role will involve reviewing the control environment within Finance to ensure the controls in place are acceptable for the risks associated, while performing ad-hoc testing to confirm processes work as planned.
You will be responsible for understanding the business and related accounting flows of the entity for which you are responsible, maintaining the control environment (including reconciliations) and providing high-quality reporting to stakeholders. This role will also involve supervising a team of more junior legal entity controllers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing monthly financial and management accounts accurately and to timetable.
- Providing analysis and insight into financial results, identifying and resolving issues within our revenue and expense lines.
- Managing and completing the Financial Year-end process with the delivery of approved Financial Statements.
- Working in partnership with our India-based service team partners to support the efficiency and accuracy of the Financial Control functions.
- Ensuring that Sub-ledger accounts that are maintained across the business are subject to a high degree of control and reconciliation.
Requirements:
- Significant experience and commercial awareness in the Financial Services industry.
- Knowledge of GAAP and accounting and finance concepts and analysis techniques preferred.
