About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Partnership Development specialist to join our team at Grant Thornton UK. In this role, you will work closely with senior members of the Advisory, Quality Risk Management (AQRM) team to provide quality and risk management support to teams within our Deals Advisory & Consulting (DAC) practice.

The ideal candidate will have technical and practical experience within professional or legal services, ideally within a transactions or consulting environment, and is now ready for their next challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide risk management and quality support to DAC teams and other advisory teams as required
  2. Review drafts of engagement contracts and other documents to support teams in negotiating the final contract with the client, liaising with AQRM and Legal as necessary
  3. Support, educate, and coach client-facing teams and individuals to enhance their risk awareness and enable them to manage risks appropriately
  4. Develop and maintain training materials, presenting at relevant training sessions
  5. Ensure required controls are understood and implemented by client-facing teams
  6. Help identify and manage emerging risks
  7. Contribute ideas and support colleagues to ensure AQRM and client-facing teams function effectively
  8. Collaborate with central support teams, such as Legal and Ethics, to help client-facing teams overcome challenges and improve policies and processes
  9. Develop guidance materials and resources, including template documentation
  10. Support service line file review and monitoring procedures

Requirements:

  • A professional qualification (ACA, ACCA) together with experience working in an advisory business unit of a professional services firm; or a legal/risk management background with experience advising on contracts and developing policies
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working in transactions, valuations, or business consulting
  • Drafting and/or reviewing contractual terms
  • Positive, proactive attitude and high-quality output delivery
  • Commercial awareness and balancing risk with reward
  • Attention to detail and ability to see the bigger picture
  • Ethical principles awareness in professional services firms, especially audit firms
  • Effective communication and flexible approach
  • Interest in digital solutions to improve the way we work
  • Resilient individual and part of a diverse team

Salary: The estimated salary range for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
